Foundation and BECU team up to “Share the Dream”

The Foundation for Edmonds School District (The Foundation) announces today that they have teamed up with BECU to “Share the Dream”, a new promotional campaign to support Nourishing Network at the recent Celebrate Schools 5k Run Walk and online at www.foundationesd.org.

The Foundation and BECU are making a financial difference in our community.  Through BECU’s “Share the Dream” program, for each new member who opens a BECU checking and member share savings account, $50 will be donated to the Foundation to support their Nourishing Network program, a weekend meal program to feed homeless and at risk youth*.

“BECU was founded on the principle of people helping people 80 years ago” said Molly Andrews, Events Development and PR Manager. “As a credit union, our primary motivation is making a difference for our members and our community.”

BECU is a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative committed to the financial well-being of their members and the communities in which they serve.

The Nourishing Network operates in partnership with the Edmonds School District, and helps to feed both homeless and at-risk youth in the Edmonds School District.  Last year, the Foundation provided over 1,500 weekend meals to over 90 homeless and low-income students weekly.

For over 30 years, the Foundation has supported students, teachers and schools by putting money they raise where it enhances student learning the most — directly into schools and classrooms. With an all-volunteer board and active community participants, the Foundation has successfully provided Edmonds School District with a dynamic partnership in educating our children.
