Ways to Help

The Nourishing Network is indeed a network, a collection of community partners and volunteers. Together we work together to raise funds, collect and distribute weekend meals and snacks to homeless students in the Edmonds School District. We have a variety of ways that you, your business, or organization can help us keep these students ready to learn.

If you are interested in getting involved, we would love to have you join us! Print and complete this Nourishing Network Info Page and mail it back to us. Contact our Program Coordinator with questions via email, or 425-431-7092.

Provide a monetary gift

These young philanthropists donated proceeds from their lemonade stand to the Nourishing Network!

These young philanthropists donated proceeds from their lemonade stand to the Nourishing Network! Ask us for ideas on how you can add a food or fund drive component to your organization’s events!

When we receive money, it supports the program, and we can buy food at cost. For every $30 donated, one student receives 3 snacks and over 6 meals during the weekend. To donate, please make a gift online via our Donate Now button at the top of the page, or mail in your donation:

Please indicate Nourishing Network in the comment area of your check, or in the comment area on the online donation form.

Conduct a food drive

The only thing holding us back from feeding more kids is receiving more food. Food drives can be done in many ways. We can provide you with a Nourishing Network collection box.

Here are a few suggestions:

  • Take a Nourishing Network food box and drop it off at your church or place of business.
  • Lead a food drive in your neighborhood or community.
  • Talk to your local grocery store about setting up a food drive outside.
  • Have a birthday food drive! Instead of gifts, ask guests to bring food for our pantry.

Our pantry provides a variety of single-serving, shelf-stable, quick heat or ready-to-eat food items for these students.

Volunteer your time

Every week we need help with packing the food bags and inventorying donated food. There are opportunities for individuals and groups (church groups, Girl and Boy Scouts, Kiwanis, Rotary Club, etc.) to serve on Wednesday’s from 10-12noon and on some Tuesday evenings at 6:45-7:45pm. Currently 10 is the max for volunteer groups. These volunteer opportunities are by appointment. Please either call or email our Program Coordinator to learn more about volunteering and scheduling time to help.
