Edmonds Public Schools Foundation Merges with the Edmonds School District Alumni Association
Lynnwood, WA – January 1, 2014 – Edmonds Public Schools Foundation (EPSF) announced today that it merged with the Edmonds School District Alumni Association (ESDAA), and will be named the Edmonds Public Schools and Alumni Foundation (The Foundation).
The ESDAA was founded in 1996, and annually awards scholarships for post-secondary education to graduating seniors from the Edmonds School District. The ESDAA’s all-volunteer board will now serve as the Scholarship/Alumni” committee of The Foundation.
“We are excited,” said Fred Shull, President of the ESDAA. “The ESDAA board has unanimously endorsed this merger with the EPSF. This joining will only enhance the service for students, student programs and teachers of Edmonds School District No. 15.”
The EPSF was founded in 1984 and has supported students, teachers and schools by putting money we raise where it enhances student learning the most — directly into our schools and classrooms. With an all-volunteer board and active community participants, The Foundation has successfully provided Edmonds School District with a dynamic partnership in educating our children.
Deborah Anderson will continue to serve as Executive Director of The Foundation. “This partnership makes economic sense,” said Anderson. “We both serve our students in the Edmonds School District. Combined, we can be a stronger foundation for our district, our teachers and our students.”
The Foundation will form a merger task force whose purpose will be to examine combing operations, merging donor databases and exploring the possibility of a name and brand change. The Foundation anticipates the six-ten months for operations to be fully merged.
The Foundation is co-located in the Edmonds School District offices at 20420 68th Avenue W, Lynnwood, WA 98036. 425.431.7260.
