National School Foundation Association Names Deborah Brandi to Industry Leadership Council
Lynnwood, WA – The Foundation for Edmonds School District announced today that Executive Director Deborah Brandi has been appointed to the National School Foundation Association (NSFA) Industry Leadership Council. Brandi will serve a three-year term as Washington’s representative on the council and NSFA’s ambassador to preK-12 school foundations across the state.
NSFA’s Industry Leadership Council was created in 2017 to better connect, support and lead the public school foundation movement nation-wide. It includes experienced foundation executives and thought leaders from all 50 states.
“I can say based on my own experience as a foundation director that NSFA is a superb resource and strong voice for school foundations as we partner with districts and communities to meet children’s educational needs,” said Deborah Brandi. “I’m honored to be appointed to the Industry Leadership Council and look forward to serving as Washington’s representative to the NSFA.”
NSFA formed in 2008 in response to cuts to local and state education funding across the country. Today, more than 900 school foundations and seven state associations are members. NSFA provides expert resources and training in leadership, program management, fundraising and community engagement. It also assists school districts in creating and developing local education foundations.
For 35 years, the Foundation for Edmonds School District has worked in partnership with the District to ensure that every student has the resources to learn, thrive and contribute to our vibrant community. With an all-volunteer board and active community participants, the Foundation provides supplemental funding to support students, families and educators in the pursuit of educational excellence. www.foundationesd.org
