Sponsors Crucial in Fight to Feed Hungry and Homeless Children

LYNNWOOD, WA – The Foundation for Edmonds School District would like to thank crucial sponsors, including the Verdant Health Commission, the City of Mountlake Terrace, Schools Out Washington, and our many donors, whose gifts help fund important programs that support hungry and homeless children and their families across the Edmonds School District during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Generous support provides for essential programs such as the Nourishing Network, a Foundation initiative that was created in partnership with, and at the request of, the Edmonds School District to provide meals and services to hungry and homeless students and their families. Programs include Weekend Meal Kits, Summer Meals Program, Pop-Up Pantries, home meal deliveries, and holiday meals, as well as supporting Edmonds School District meal kits.

Each month, the Nourishing Network provides more than 33,400 food items to children and families struggling due to persistent poverty, unemployment, and greater financial burdens as a result of the pandemic. “Essential programs like these are able to reach hundreds of families,” says Deborah Brandi, Foundation for Edmonds School District Executive Director. “Without this vital support, crucial work like this would not be possible.”
