Promoting Diversity and Inclusion: Donated Books Enrich School Libraries with Rich Cultural Perspectives

On June 9th, the Very Asian Foundation organized a mixer event at Fire and the Feast, a local Edmonds restaurant. The gathering brought together esteemed guests including local elected officials, principals, librarians, Foundation for Edmonds School District staff, and members of the Very Asian Foundation to commemorate a significant donation of Asian American books.

Through their impactful May Book Project, aimed at “building and maintaining robust Asian American youth literature collections for all readers,” the Very Asian Foundation generously contributed 250 books to the Foundation for Edmonds School District. This valuable book donation will enrich the libraries of 16 schools within the Edmonds School District, ensuring that students have access to diverse literature.
