What is Edmonds Serves?

Edmonds Serves is a community-wide initiative that celebrates the people, organizations, and acts of service that strengthen our community. Edmonds is the first city in the nation to receive the designation of a “Community of Service” through the National Museum and Center for Service. Through storytelling, volunteer recognition, and community partnerships, Edmonds Serves highlights the many ways individuals make a difference across Edmonds.

We are humbled to be recognized for our impactful work and service supporting children and families from Cradle to Career in our South Snohomish County region through the Edmonds Serves initiative.

Look out for our poster at the following locations: Edmonds School District Main Office, The Branding Iron, Driftwood Players, Salt & Iron

As a participating organization, the Foundation for Edmonds School District is proud to recognize the volunteers who help students and families thrive every day. Learn More.

Volunteers in Action

Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. From packing meal kits and distributing food supplies to supporting events and helping students thrive, their generosity makes a lasting impact throughout Edmonds and the communities of South Snohomish County where we serve.

Watch how volunteers help create opportunities, remove barriers, and strengthen our community.

Susan Campbell 2026

Foundation Living Legends Award Honoree

While Edmonds Serves celebrates volunteerism across our community, the Foundation for Edmonds School District also recognizes extraordinary individuals through our annual Living Legends Award.

Susan Campbell

2026 Living Legends Awardee

Approximately 40 weeks a year for more than a decade, Susan Campbell has quietly and faithfully served behind the scenes with the Foundation’s Nourishing Network program. Susan has sorted, counted and dated thousands upon thousands of the food items that have helped feed our students in need through the years, and she hasn't stopped there. Susan also volunteers as a weekly driver, delivering weekend meal kits to students wherever they reside. Whether they have realized it or not, literally thousands of people have benefitted from Susan's tireless service.

Volunteer Voices

"The ability to make even a small impact on someone’s life is my reason for volunteering with the Nourishing Network. I don’t know who I’m helping but have no doubt there’s a lot of need in our community. I’m so thankful for the opportunity."

Amy S.

"I love serving a local, tangible need in my community, especially for kids in school. Thanks for allowing me to help."
