Programs
In 2020-21, we invested more than $653,000 in programs that benefit students, families, and teachers in every school in the Edmonds School District.
We fund and administer 22 programs in three key areas: academic enrichment, health and wellness, and career and college readiness. These programs align with and advance the Edmonds School District’s goals for student success from pre-K through graduation and beyond.
Academic Enrichment:
Nourishing Network:
Career and College Readiness:
Classroom & Schoolwide Grants
A modest investment can have life-long returns when it lights a fire for learning and fuels student success. Aligned with district learning goals, our classroom and schoolwide grant program provides supplemental funding for dozens of creative projects that enrich all subject areas, at every grade level. This year, more than $36,000 was awarded across 27 grants.
Music Lab
In 2016, the Foundation entered into a partnership with the Rotary Club of Edmonds Daybreakers called Music Lab. Through the Rotary Club’s annual Jazz Connection music festival, the two organizations raise nearly $20,000 each year to enrich the district’s exceptional instrumental and vocal music programs.
Nourishing Network
The Nourishing Network was created in partnership with and at the request of the Edmonds School District because hungry children struggle to learn. More than 650 ESD students experience homelessness during the school year, and 33 percent of families qualify for free and reduced federal lunch programs.
Whole Families Whole Communities
In spring of 2018, we introduced the Whole Families, Whole Communities (WFWC) initiative to provide coordinated services for our district’s most vulnerable students and families.
Student Scholarships
The Foundation’s scholarship program has opened doors to higher learning for hundreds of graduating seniors. Students attending any of the district’s six high schools may apply.
Stipend Support
We are committed to reducing financial barriers to on-time graduation, college credit and certification in high school, and a future that includes post-secondary education.
